Cyber Security, News

Copy of Copy of MOQdigital July - Sept (8)Earlier this month Microsoft had their annual Worldwide Partner Conference (Inspire) in Las Vegas. Several MOQdigital staff members were fortunate enough to attend and all found that Cyber Security was a constant theme throughout the whole event. This is also evident with Gartner Research producing a SWOT analysis of Microsoft with the heading stating, “Microsoft is now a Security Vendor”.

Microsoft now have key security solutions in all the core areas (identity, operations, networking, endpoint, etc.) and their overall strategy is to integrate with third parties for any areas that they may lack. They are also working closely with partners, such as MOQdigital, to educate and assist clients with security focused sessions such as a CISO security strategy workshop, Azure, and Microsoft 365 Compliance. Additional in-depth security workshops and other support activities help organisations quickly understand their current security posture. It is clear that Microsoft are making a massive investment in security across all their offerings.

Microsoft Cybersecurity Reference Architecture

Microsoft built on their Identity and Threat Protection, and Information Protection and Compliance security focussed offerings with a number of new initiatives, reference architectures and technologies. One particular standout announcement was Azure Sentinel which provides AI driven security analytics for enterprise. This Cloud Based modern SEIM solution from Microsoft collects security information not just from Microsoft solutions (Windows, Office 365, Azure, Dynamics, etc) but also many third-party solutions such as firewalls, IDS and syslog servers. Ultimately Sentinel will provide security operations teams with a tool which is not only built in the cloud, but for the specific security challenges within The Cloud
