As the world continues to embrace the flexibility of remote working and business operations on the back of the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of having a cloud-based IT system has never been clearer.
Shifting your IT infrastructure to the cloud gives you access to a number of benefits over a physical set-up, including smoother scalability and greater customisation to fit your exact needs. This is especially true if you utilise the capabilities of Microsoft Azure to help you move to the cloud, which MOQdigital has helped hundreds of happy customers across Australia do.
The benefits of a cloud-based set-up are particularly beneficial for not-for-profit (or NFP) organisations, due to generally lower costs overall. MOQdigital is also uniquely positioned as a direct cloud solution provider (or CSP) and has worked with a number of not-for-profit organisations across Australia to achieve their goals and simplify their business operations through Microsoft Azure.
But, this being said, a number of changes have recently occurred that affect how NFPs can make use of Microsoft Azure and our other cloud-based offerings. That’s why we wanted to break down these changes and explain how they may affect you and your not-for-profit organisation.
What Is A CSP?
A CSP is a cloud solution provider, or the company responsible for supplying you with the infrastructure and tools you need to operate efficiently from the cloud. MOQdigital is a CSP that liaises directly between Microsoft and you, the consumer, while lowering costs by cutting out the middleman.
As a direct liaison, we provide a single point of contact between you and Microsoft and are responsible for everything from billing to procurement of hardware and software to ongoing IT support – whenever and wherever you may need it.
We are also able to offer you flexible billing which means that you can choose to make your payments on a monthly, bi-annual or yearly basis as you see fit for the length of your contract with us. We know how unpredictable operating in today’s world can be, especially as a not-for-profit, so we aim to make it as easy as possible to meet your commitments while you continue to focus on doing what you do best.
How Is CSP Changing For Not-For-Profits?
As of July 2021, the eligibility for not-for-profit and nongovernmental organisations looking to utilise Microsoft’s cloud services is those organisations that:
Hold recognised, legal charitable status as defined in their countries
Operate on a not-for-profit basis
Have a mission to benefit the broader community
Attest to Microsoft’s anti-discrimination policy
Only assign Microsoft licenses to eligible staff
Only use their licenses for within their direct organisation, not for their partner, affiliate or sister organisations
Depending on how your NFP is structured, you may find yourself suddenly becoming eligible for the benefits associated with Microsoft Azure’s NFP program. Similarly, if your organisation has experienced a structural change recently, you may have become ineligible for this program.
As a CSP, MOQdigital is also changing our billing model. From October 14th on you will be able to choose from 3 billing terms, each with its own pros and cons. These 3 terms include:
Monthly, which can be thought of as a fully flexible airfare, but which comes with a premium in exchange for this freedom
Annually, which can be thought of as the saver airfare
36-month term, which can be thought of as a business class ticket or enterprise agreement, where you are able to lock-in the price of your Microsoft subscriptions but have to sign a 36-month commitment.
Please note that all NFPs currently on a previous subscription model will eventually be transitioned onto our new model, so that we’re better able to provide you with the support and knowledge you need.
Now, we at MOQdigital believe that communication is the key to success, especially with our not-for-profit partners, who are typically operating under high amounts of stress with a low number of resources. That’s why we wanted to take a minute to say that if you had any questions about any of the changes described above - or if you want to know more about how MOQdigital can help you successfully make the transition to the cloud - please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
After all, we’re always here to help.
