"The team from MOQdigital were always clear and transparent. We could talk to them any time we had any issues or concerns, or if we needed any additional information. There was a good level of trust established between us and the MOQdigital team.”
Beyond Blue is Australia’s most well-known and visited mental health organisation, providing support and services to people affected by anxiety and depression in Australia for over 20 years. Beyond Blue works with the community to improve mental health and prevent suicide, so that all people in Australia can achieve their best possible mental health.
Beyond Blue’s aim over the coming years is to streamline access to, and the responsiveness of, their digital resources and other services and build a better online platform to better connect with people in the community. No matter how people connect with Beyond Blue, they want everyone to have access to relevant resources and services that offer information, advice and support they need.
As COVID-19 accelerated their need for improved Data and Analytics Capabilities, a COVID-19 specific support service and web site was launched in April of 2020. This created the need for a platform that would analyse the data of the service usage to better understand the demand and user behaviour of the newly created support service and web site.
To accomplish this, Beyond Blue were seeking to build a data analytics and insights platform to serve as a foundation for the enterprise as a whole, and to assist in providing Beyond Blue with the ability to have a comprehensive view of their users and how they were using and accessing their programs and services across all platforms.
They expected to have significant additional ongoing data and analytic requirements and intended that this platform serves as the foundation of their future Data and Insights platform.
MOQdigital developed and deployed a solution based on the Microsoft Modern Data Warehouse Architecture, which could be easily extended to support any additional ongoing data and analytics requirements. The solution delivered a data model with reports developed in Power BI which aligned to Beyond Blue’s requirements for both their support centres and website.
Azure Data Factory was used for data movement to ingest data from the source systems to the Azure Data Lake and move the data into the Azure SQL Database. By landing the raw data in the Azure Data Lake and leveraging Logic Apps, this provided an environment for exploration, in which Power BI was used to visualise the data into easy to understand reports.
Leveraging the architecture of Microsoft’s Modern Data Warehouse, MOQdigital delivered a data model with reports developed in Power BI which align to the requirements of Beyond Blue, transforming their storage and insights capabilities, and building a solid foundation in analytics for them to achieve their organisational goals.
Beyond Blue will now be able to extend the solution utilising the tools and components delivered as part of their own Data and Analytics Strategy and drive the further improvement of their platforms.
